Science Kids
Science Kids is a free science and technology website that aims to make education in these two subject areas fun, engaging and accurate. Resources are provided for teachers and parents to educate their students and children, developing their questioning and decision making abilities.Science Kids is an easy to use site, with all areas clearly organised and labelled accordingly. Teachers can explore experiments, games, facts, quizzes, projects, lessons, images, videos and topics to find resources suited to their needs. Each category provides an explanation of its purpose aimed to engage the browser.
Each experiment is clearly set out, with a list of required materials, instructions and explanations of the results (in simple and detailed form) that make them simple for teachers to incorporate into their planning, or for students to follow on their own.
The games available are sorted according to the area of science they incorporate (Living Things; Physical Processes and Solids, Liquids and Gases) as well as Maths Games and Detective Science. Each game has an explanation that informs on the purpose of the game and instructs the browser.
The facts area engages students with interesting pieces of trivia and the idea that they may not always be the truth - 'what is 'fact' today may be disproved tomorrow'. These facts are sorted into subject areas and sub-categories where necessary - 'animals' (subject) 'dogs' (subcategory).
A range of lesson plans are available for teachers to use, based on a range of science topics explored in the experiments and games. The lessons are clearly detailed with an outline, introduction to set the scene and instructions for the lesson. Prompt questions and discussion topics are listed within the lesson for teachers to utilise.

Recommendation
Science Kids is an easy to use site that I believe contains valuable tools for engaging students with the world of science. The easy navigation makes this site one that students can easily use on their own, to explore topics that interest them. The experiments are simple to follow, as are the lessons and utilise many objects that are in the school (or easily sourced) Having all these science resources on one website makes it a valuable classroom tool.
